Just checking us out?
Here's some basic, simple information about the church
What to expect on your visit
What should I wear to church?
We invite you to come just as YOU are. You’ll see all kinds of people at Journey: some people will be dressed in a suit or a nice dress, others will be wearing a nice shirt and slacks, others jeans and a t-shirt. Come in what makes you feel comfortable.
What should I bring?
If you have a Bible at home, bring it along. That way, you can take notes or underline things right in your own Bible for later reference. If you don’t have a Bible, there are plenty available in the back of the seating for you to use and/or take home to use.
Where should I sit?
Once you arrive and have parked (there are some designated guest parking spots), you’ll be greeted at the door with a smile and a program of the days events. From there, you are welcome to sit anywhere you like in the worship center; the best seats are in the front ;)
Will I stand out in the crowd as a new person or be asked to do anything weird?
Every week we have 2-10 new people, so no worries; you won’t be the only one. We want your time with us to be enjoyable and we will not do anything to put you on the spot, make you feel uncomfortable or cause you to stand out in the crowd.
Do my kids attend with me?
At 10:00am we have special classes for them that are age-specific. Once a month (the third Saturday [Sabbath] of the month) we have Children's Church: a worship time that is focused just on the kids in our children's wing. Otherwise we love having families join in our normal worship service; we think families should worship, sing, pray, and learn together.
What happens during the worship time?
Our services always begin with a time of singing uplifting songs (both new sones and old ones) followed by a teaching from the Bible with relevant application to your daily life. You will also hear some announcements and learn about upcoming events or opportunities to get involved. The total worship service lasts about one hour and 20 minutes.
Do I have to believe in God/Jesus to come to church at the Journey?
The short answer is, NO! We have people at all points in their spiritual journey sitting in our worship services. Some have been Christians all their lives, some are brand new in their walk with Jesus and others who are just exploring faith and aren’t sure yet what they believe.
It's our honor and privilege to answer any questions you might have about church, the Bible, our beliefs, or Christianity in general. That’s a huge part of what we're all about!
